BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT GROUP
Did you know that Holy Trinity has a bereavement ministry? We have been going strong for 3 years. If you or someone you know has suffered a loss please come join us. We meet the last Sunday of each month from 1-2:30 p.m. in the parish office. All are welcome. Call Tammiemarie at 440-937-5363 or email [email protected]
FEED THE HUNGRY
Our outreach is two-fold:
Prepare a Meal
The St. Elizabeth Center is part of Catholic Charities' presence in Lorain County and is the result of an emergency shelter that was started at the old St. Joseph Church on the corner of 15th & Reid Avenue in Lorain. Now in it's permanent location, the shelter houses and feeds at least 50 guests 365 days a year.
Holy Trinity has chosen the First Sunday of the month to supply these guests with a cooked meal. Every month we share here on the website and in the Sunday bulletin the requested meal items and ask parishioners to prepare and then package your portion of the meal for spill proof transportation. Please drop off your meal in the Church Parking Lot on the 1st Sunday of the Month between 3:00 - 3:30 PM.
Our next meal will take place on Sunday, December 1st. We will be serving:
On the First Sunday of every month non-perishable food is collected in the back of the Church. Please drop your donations underneath the choir loft stairs when you come to Mass. On Monday morning our parishioners deliver the food to CRS - Community Resource Services out of Avon Lake. CRS assists those that are in need that reside in Avon and Avon Lake. Please no perishable items!
The following is a small list of items that CRS is in need of:
FUNERAL FAITHFUL MINISTRY
This ministry is looking for volunteers to assist during funerals at Holy Trinity. We are looking for choir members, cantors, greeters & compassionate members of the parish to lend support by attending the funeral Mass. Click here for more information.
GABRIEL PROJECT
The Gabriel Project is a parish-based ministry to support pregnant mothers and their unborn children.
When a call for help is received, the parish coordinator receives the message and will contact the caller and make an initial assessment of her situation. A parish volunteer (“Angel”) is assigned the responsibility for ongoing contact with the mother throughout her pregnancy and somewhat beyond. An initial meeting is arranged to further assess her needs.
The parish community responds with love by providing spiritual, emotional, and material support to help meet those needs. Through prayer and action they assure the mother that she has their love and the love of Christ. If a mother has been abandoned by family or her child’s father, the parish community can lovingly help her overcome her sense of loss and loneliness.
If interested in assisting in this program, please fill out this form.
